We are a growing company and are currently seeking to add an experienced salesperson.  This position REQUIRES commercial millwork industry experience.  We are licensed or have authority to work in 25 states.  This would offer a motivated, experienced millwork professional a sizeable portion of the country to pursue mutually beneficial opportunities. The ideal individual would also bring new General Contractors and lines of work that fit our model.   Millwork Sales Qualifications
  • Must have working knowledge of Windows operating systems and be able to perform the following tasks without instruction.
    • Operate Outlook to send and sort emails.
    • Navigate network drives to locate information stored on the network as required.
    • Use plan hosting websites such as: ISQFT, Building Connected and other FTP sites.
    • Experience with Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Experience in commercial finish carpentry/casework is required.
  • Knowledge of bidding software “INNERGY” or “Onscreen Takeoff and Quickbid”
  • Experience required: Minimum 3-5 years with commercial millwork fabricators.
  • Basic knowledge of AWI Quality Standards is preferred.
  • Have the ability to understand what a three dimensional object will look like while only presented with two dimensional elevations.
  • Good communication skills; both in person and over the phone.
  • Existing relationship(s) with General Contractors or current clients preferred.
  Description of expected work
  • Responsible for building and improving relationships with current clients.
  • Developing new clients and lines of repetitive products in chain franchises.
  • Must be able to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Learn and understand our products and specialties.
  • Liaison with General Contractors and company for questions and requirements.
  • Schedule facility tours with Contractors to impress upon them our capabilities.

JOB SUMMARY

  Perform a wide variety of mixing, matching and applications of various finishes to wood products where color matching varies from, difficult to routine; assign, instruct and assist other finishers.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  Prepare and submit finished samples for approval.  Develop colors, shades, gloss, etc, and determine type and amount of material required. Use most time efficient methods to achieve desired result.   Apply a wide variety of finishing materials such as stain, fillers, lacquer, varnish, etc., using various methods including wiping, spraying, brushing, etc.  Use hand-held Air operated equipment such as spray guns, flat line finish machine, heavy and light sanders, rotary buffers, etc., to obtain desired final finish.  Prepare and apply materials to repair damage from shipping, sanding errors, other defects.  Mask parts as required.   On occasion, assign, train, and retrain, instruct, assist and monitor work of assistant finishers to ensure quality and efficiency of output.   Coordinate with purchasing to order material required and maintain inventory of commonly used finishes.  See that all finishing materials are properly identified and stored according to safety regulations and laws.   See that the finishing area and equipment are maintained in a clean and orderly condition and that all safety rules, regulations and practices are observed and followed.  Keep and maintain various required production records, logs or other data.   Perform other similar duties as assigned or instructed by supervisor.   The description above represents the most significant duties of this position but does not exclude other occasional work assignments not mentioned; the inclusion of which would be in conformity with the factor degrees assigned.
