Job Description

Receive architectural plans from client’s and identify and analyze the millwork and metalwork scope items for company interest and fit. Working with pre-existing architectural millwork drawings and specifications, or with custom designs created in-house, create price-estimate by conducting material take-offs and prepare time duration, material cost, and labor cost estimates for projects following our pricing systems. Review scope of work and manufacturing process with shop personnel to obtain precise labor hour estimates for manufacturing. Solicit subcontractor pricing, when needed. Perform take offs for millwork projects. Review total estimate to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to submitting formal quotation, including reviewing estimates created by other staff. Help monitor comparison of estimated costs to actual costs for awarded projects. Research and promote continuous improvement in developing more efficient estimating methods and pricing models. Maintain positive relationships with area vendors to obtain competitive material pricing.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction or related field is preferred but not required; some higher level education is required.
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience required. Knowledge and ability to accurately conduct material take-offs.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and AutoCAD is required.
Bonus experience – Alphacam or comparable software knowledge.

Retired Military Pay: As long as you retire from the military with either years of service or age, your retirement income is not taxable. Property Taxes Property taxes are levied by local governments (counties, municipalities and school districts). Rebates of paid property tax or rent, up to a maximum of $975 per year, are available. To qualify, annual household eligibility income must not exceed $35,000. Applicants can exclude, as income, one-half of Social Security, Supplemental Security Income and Railroad Retirement Tier 1 benefits. The Property Tax/Rent Rebate program allows residents to exclude 50% of Social Security payments and 50% of Railroad Retirement benefit payments from eligibility income. The maximum rebate is $650. Inheritance and Estate Taxes The Pennsylvania inheritance tax is calculated at a percentage of the value of the assets transferred which is determined by the relationship of the heir to the decedent and the decedent’s date of death. The tax rate is 4.5% for transfers to direct descendants (lineal heirs), 12% for transfers to siblings, and 15% for transfers to other heirs (except charitable organizations, exempt institutions, and government entities). Property owned jointly between husband and wife is exempt from the tax, while property inherited from a spouse, or from a child 21 or younger by a parent is exempt.
