Job Description

Interpret architectural drawings accurately and draft them into shop drawings for both submittal and production. Create, maintain, and update drawings to assure timely manufacturing of product to customer’s specifications. Communicate with the Project Manager regarding items that may affect pricing, scheduling, delivery, etc. Prepare production drawings by incorporating redlines when shop drawings are returned after review form Architect and/or contractor.
Incorporate field measurements into the drawings and prepare for production. Utilize all available resources to confirm that the design will work. Attend drawing reviews/W.O. releases. Prepare and submit material requisitions and coordinate with the Purchasing Department to order special materials. Communicate effectively to internal points of production, both verbally and in writing. Be available to continually communicate with Project Managers, Estimators, Manufacturing team members, Engineers and upper management. Provide Purchasing Department with preliminary and final material requirements for job. Review cut lists and final optimizations package prior to releasing for production. Clarify any outstanding manufacturing questions.

Eligibility Requirements

Vocational training – degree in drafting preferred and/or at least two years in drafting or cabinetry experience with high school diploma or equivalent
Experience with Microvellum is a bonus
Experience with AutoCAD 2000 or higher desired
Must have high attention to detail
Ability to read and interpret complex architectural drawings
Above average computer skills and with the ability to learn new skills as needed
Ability to work at computer for long periods of time
Ability to read and interpret job specifications
Knowledge of materials and processes related to cabinetry
Professional attitude
Sense of urgency towards completing assigned tasks
Must have initiative, be a self-starter and problem solver. Must be able to work in a team environment with little to no supervision
