Job Description

     Manage all site-specific field operations including the coordination of subcontractors, general     contractor, project manager, shop manager and other trades in execution of the scope of work at the project work site. Ensure all projects are installed on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget. This position requires considerable judgment and latitude in performing job duties and is expected to function effectively with minimal direct supervision. Responsible for ensuring all production is completed safely, efficiently, in a timely manner, and confirms to quality standards. The position directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Eligibility Requirements

Coordinate closely with Project Managers and Production Manager for manpower requirements, schedule, coordination issues, overall installation and project goals.

Perform field measures of site conditions and compare to architectural drawings/shop drawings (catch any coordination items prior to field install).

Coordinate work flow with subcontract labor, other trades and general contractor for a smooth and timely installation per schedule and budget.

Identify conflicts in installation progress and communicate them to project team for resolution. 

Complete all required safety meetings, hazard assessments, site orientations and other safety documentation as outlined in contract.

Attend general contractor meetings designed to coordinate the work as needed.

Verify tools, equipment and materials delivered to site are the correct quantities and sizes; meet specifications and are not damaged. Provide timely notification where discrepancies exist or damaged materials are delivered to the project manager.

Meet with employees and subcontractors every morning to discuss the day’s activities, site hazards and safety concerns

Perform site supervision and instruct installation crew on drawing and millwork layout, for purposes of product staging and installation.

Complete and turn in daily progress reports with progress photographs to the project team and client, as required

Forecast project needs and coordinate with the Shop Manager

Perform project site walk-throughs to monitor activities and assist in future planning.

Prepares and Manages inspection punch list items and ensure outstanding punch list items are completed quickly and when scheduled. Coordinate with GC for inspections.

Perform quality control during installation with a zero (0) customer punch-list goal.

Ensure protection of installed product; i.e. Adequately covered, delineated and/or barricaded. Take picture installed product and then take picture of protected product.

Ability to multi-task, keeping track of multiple project responsibilities, priorities and deadlines at the same time

Any other activity not listed to supervise and or complete field installation in a timely and professional manner with the schedule and production goals in mind and 100% client satisfaction.

Assist with shop fabrication as necessary.

Build effective client and subcontractor relationships. Interface with client representatives, A/E representatives, and other contractors. 

Assess future work activities and identify any concerns with work plans by utilizing sub-contractors 3-week look a-head report. 

Maintain inventory on all materials needed and order materials as needed.

Supervise personnel and ensure adherence to department/ company policies and procedures.

Effectively work with project management and Production Manager to coordinate man power requirements and job needs.

Assess and approve architectural millwork at job sites and manage subcontractors and laborers for the duration of each project

Maintain relationships with clients through communication and problem solving in order to meet all their needs.

Maintain a leadership role amongst installer carpenters in the field.

Work and communicate with field personnel, architects and project management.

Ensures quality control of work on the job site

Ensure assigned jobsite operations are in compliance with design/specifications, completion on schedule, within budget and to quality standards. 

Perform personnel management duties including training, initiating disciplinary actions, and completing performance reviews. Provide performance feedback on installation crew and prepares written input for formal performance evaluations.  

Monitor delivery and evaluate work done by installers to ensure accuracy and quality and meet deadlines

Responsible for the organization and direction of projects and related activities within assigned area of responsibility, which may be a single area, multi-area or a multi-discipline project. 

Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned at the discretion of management.
