Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Cabinet and Fixture Designer who is responsible for designing custom millwork projects for production. Analyze and interpret construction blueprints and specifications. Develop plans and models for production while ensuring optimal use of materials, construction methodology, manufacturing and installation. Develop job orders of engineered cabinet and millwork components. Create detailed shop drawings, diagrams, and instructions to complete work order. Communicate with Purchasing to make sure all materials are on hand that are necessary for the project. Partner with production departments to determine best practice for completion of a project. Ensure quality and timely completion of project assignments. Provide production support and troubleshoot any issues on the production floor. Analyze, develop, and improve engineering processes through waste reduction, error proofing design, standardization, etc. Manage projects with ambiguous customer data.

Eligibility Requirements

Software experience valued: Microvellum, AutoCad, SketchUp, Cut Rite, KCL, and/or Router-CIM

High level of commercial construction blueprint reading skills preferred

Advanced computer and applications knowledge

Proficient product design skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills working in a team environment

Excellent technical analytical and reasoning skills

Knowledge and understanding of AWI and AWS standards
