Commercial Casework Company seeking experienced Lead Engineer with the ability to lead and train others. Work efficiently and be thoughtful about improvements for the Engineering department. Lead Engineer also responsible for managing the engineering department as well as these technical tasks:
Interpret architectural and interior design specifications, plans, sections, and elevations to create detailed submittal drawings and specifications.
Well acquainted with the requirements of meeting Custom and Premium grades of the Architectural Woodworking Standards (AWI) for cabinetry and counter tops.
Research materials and hardware and critically evaluate the strength and durability of the end product.
Build out Cabinet Vision library with frequently used and easily modifiable assemblies.
Design custom assemblies in accord with the customer’s requirements and established internal construction techniques.
Generate complete bill of materials for purchasing department.
Create fully detailed set of fabrication ready shop drawings.
Generate and QC program code for nested-based CNC machining center.
Generate cut lists for hand-cut parts & complete shipment lists for each job phase.
Responsible for authorizing production based on completed shop drawings and generated machine code.
Prepare complete production batch directives including accurate part labels.
5 years minimum experience in the architectural millwork manufacturing and installation industry.
Familiar with wood veneer and plastic laminate products.
Extensive experience with 3D modeling and parametric constraint concepts.
Experience configuring and enhancing Cabinet Vision functionality.
Thorough understanding of Cabinet Vision software capabilities and limitations.
Working understanding of ERP software.
Superior organization skills.
Familiar with LEAN principals
