  • Maintain current project drawings, specifications, and addenda and distribution to subcontractors.
  • Generate estimates for prospective clients as required.
  • Develop project scopes for each division of work during the preconstruction timeline.
  • Assist the Preconstruction Manager in managing deliverable timelines.
  • Coordinate subcontractor estimating meetings with prospective clients/design team.
  • Study plans and provide estimating guidelines to subcontractors and vendors.
  • Quantity takeoffs using detailed spreadsheets and takeoff software.
  • Maintenance of current approved Subcontractor/Vendor List
  • Maintain historical pricing database.
  • Support project download meetings with project manager and superintendent
  • Update Residential and Commercial Department heads on current estimate statuses during weekly meeting.

JOB SUMMARY

  Perform a wide variety of mixing, matching and applications of various finishes to wood products where color matching varies from, difficult to routine; assign, instruct and assist other finishers.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  Prepare and submit finished samples for approval.  Develop colors, shades, gloss, etc, and determine type and amount of material required. Use most time efficient methods to achieve desired result.   Apply a wide variety of finishing materials such as stain, fillers, lacquer, varnish, etc., using various methods including wiping, spraying, brushing, etc.  Use hand-held Air operated equipment such as spray guns, flat line finish machine, heavy and light sanders, rotary buffers, etc., to obtain desired final finish.  Prepare and apply materials to repair damage from shipping, sanding errors, other defects.  Mask parts as required.   On occasion, assign, train, and retrain, instruct, assist and monitor work of assistant finishers to ensure quality and efficiency of output.   Coordinate with purchasing to order material required and maintain inventory of commonly used finishes.  See that all finishing materials are properly identified and stored according to safety regulations and laws.   See that the finishing area and equipment are maintained in a clean and orderly condition and that all safety rules, regulations and practices are observed and followed.  Keep and maintain various required production records, logs or other data.   Perform other similar duties as assigned or instructed by supervisor.   The description above represents the most significant duties of this position but does not exclude other occasional work assignments not mentioned; the inclusion of which would be in conformity with the factor degrees assigned.

Do not let trade partners dictate design or quality standards without approval Ensure work is being done per latest plan and documentation Ensure job signage and rules are displayed appropriately and enforced Ensure protection of new and existing interior finishes, driveways, landscaping, etc. New finishes must be protected within 24 hours of install Thorough weekly inspection of all projects for items needing completion or correction   Eligibility Requirements: Schedule subcontractors and vendors based on critical path timeline as outlined in written 8 week schedule Ensure Trade partners in 8 week schedules are notified of and committed to listed dates Schedule subcontractors 4 weeks in advance with notices at 3 weeks, 2 weeks, 1 week, and 1-2 days prior to starting work Ensure scheduled subcontractors and vendors are on-site as planned Schedule items to be done both essential and non-essential to critical path with trade partners Implement and follow punch out procedure at appropriate time for each project Complete any non-critical path items as soon as possible Schedule QC checklist site review with General Superintendent at appropriate intervals Communicate with architect, designers, and owner throughout the job process Be responsive and available via email, text and phone Update homeowner each Friday of job status Communicate with office staff weekly for both scheduling and financial details Ensure General Superintendent is aware of trade partners neglecting properly communicated schedule, scheduling conflicts or any critical trade issues Utilize all applicable co-construct features in order to properly coordinate with project manager Work with the utmost sense of care and urgency to ensure the highest quality and efficiency standards are met Re-verify with the office, prior to rough-in.
